01Your pipeline becomes Meta's training data
Each signal fires once per lead when it reaches a stage you choose:
- Lead received: sent for every instant form lead on arrival, the first step of the funnel.
- Contacted: you reached the lead. Teaches Meta who actually answers.
- Pre-qualified: real interest shown.
- Qualified: ready to buy, Meta's strongest signal for finding buyers.
- Converted: became a customer, sent with the purchase value.
02One stage, one signal
Map each built-in or custom stage to the signal it should send. A stage sends at most one signal, so Meta never gets two different stories about the same move. Dead ends like Junk or Lost are best left unmapped.
03Better matching, more conversions credited
Meta credits a conversion to an ad only when it can match the lead. TracelyCRM shows a match-quality score and how many leads can send each detail: email, phone, Meta lead ID, name, city, state, postcode, country, gender and date of birth. Pick which form question feeds each one. Everything except the Meta lead ID is SHA-256 hashed before it leaves the server.
04Purchase value, for real ROAS
When a rep marks a lead Converted they enter the deal value, which is sent with the event in your currency. A default value covers deals without one, so you can move campaigns to value optimisation later.
05Nothing silently lost
Every event is logged with its status. Failed ones show why and can be retried one by one or all at once, and the sidebar warns you when signals start failing.
06How it works
- 1Connect Meta
Add your dataset (pixel) ID to the Meta connection.
- 2Map stages
Tick which stage sends each signal; one signal per stage.
- 3Improve match quality
Point city, postcode and other details at your form questions.
- 4Watch the log
See every event sent, and retry any that failed.
07Questions
What is the Meta Conversions API?
A server-to-server way to tell Meta about events that happen outside its platforms, such as a lead becoming a customer. Meta uses these events to optimise delivery and report conversions.
Does this change my lead counts in Ads Manager?
No. "Lead received" is a funnel step, not an extra lead; your lead count stays the same.
Is personal data sent in plain text?
No. Email, phone, names and location details are SHA-256 hashed before they are sent, as Meta requires. Only the Meta lead ID is sent as is.
How many events does Meta need?
Meta optimises best once a stage collects about 50 events a week, so map the stages your team reaches most often first.
